In order to alleviate her challenging financial circumstances, Arine reluctantly decides to go back to her hometown. There, she accepts a job as an interpreter for the seasonal workers from Guatemala who are employed by local Canadian farmers. Despite being instructed to maintain neutrality in her role, Arine becomes increasingly disturbed by the repeated instances of mistreatment and abuse towards the migrant workers.
